Biography

Chiara Tonda-Turo received her Master's Degree (2006) and PhD (2011) in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. In 2011, she received the "Alberto Mazzoldi" award for the best PhD Thesis in bioengineering from National Bioengineering Group. Since 2016, she is Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, dealing with the preparation and characterisation of polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering applications and development of in vitro organ models. She has been visiting scientist at Cambridge University in UK in 2015 and at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2019 and co-founder of the spin-off Company Geltis.

Dr. Tonda-Turo has supervised several undergraduate and graduate students and 2 PhD students. She is the author of 48 papers in international refereed journals, 2 patents and 50 abstracts in conference proceedings (H-index 18).
