Alice Zoso

Post-doctoral fellow

Biography

Alice Zoso graduated in Industrial Biotechnology in 2010 and obtained her PhD in Bioscience and Biotechnology in 2014 at the University of Padova (Italy). Here, she worked on the development of an in vitro model of skeletal muscle on hydrogel for Duchenne Dystrophy investigation and on the integration of human tissues in a microfluidic technology for physio-pathological studies on Type 2 Diabetes. After receiving her PhD, she worked as post-doctoral fellow at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), studying first the crosstalk between human skeletal muscle and pancreatic beta-cells in Type 2 Diabetes and later, the mechanisms of uncontrolled airway epithelium repair in Cystic Fibrosis.

Since 2018, she is a post-doc at Politecnico di Torino where she focuses on the development and biological characterization of the 3D in vitro model of fibrotic cardiac tissue within the BIORECAR project. During these years she delivered several presentations at national and international conferences, chaired 2 oral sessions, and authored 18 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 1 book chapter (h-index 10).
